Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

The win also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.

He came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.

The opponent defended 4 initial opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
